What Makes This Site Different

Three things the affiliate-comparison sites cannot say.

No Paid Rankings

Our rate tables are sorted by APY, not by commission rate. No institution pays to appear in our comparisons. We disclose every affiliate relationship and it does not affect product ranking.

YMYL Standard

Deposit decisions are money decisions. Every rate carries an “as of” date. Every product page links to FDIC or NCUA confirmation. Every guide is reviewed by Margery Penrose, CFP.

Profile Matching

The best savings account for a retiree on fixed income is not the same as for an emergency-fund builder. We map every product across six depositor profiles. Find yours.

Find Accounts by Your Profile

Six depositor profiles, each with its own product-fit ranking across all twelve account types.

Compare by Bank Type

Rate patterns vary significantly by institution type. Here is the structural reason each matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does GetDeposited choose which accounts to compare?

We survey rates weekly across federally insured institutions in each product category. We include big-four banks, regional banks, online banks, credit unions, fintechs, and brokerage-affiliated banks. No institution pays to appear in our comparisons — placement reflects rate and product fit, not ad spend.

Are the rates shown guaranteed?

No rate shown on this site is guaranteed. Rates on savings accounts and money market accounts change whenever the issuing institution decides to change them — sometimes within days of a Federal Reserve decision. CD rates are fixed for the term once you open the account. Every rate shown carries an 'as of' date; always verify on the institution's own website before depositing.

Is FDIC insurance the same at online banks as at branch banks?

Yes. FDIC insurance is per depositor per institution per ownership category — the coverage rules do not change based on whether the bank operates branches. An online-only bank with an FDIC charter provides the same $250,000 per-depositor coverage as a branch bank. Verify FDIC status at banks.data.fdic.gov before depositing at any institution.
